Call it.  See what happens.  I have no idea who will answer.  Maybe you do.  Who knows?  Who cares?  I'm in one of those philosophical moods again.  I was here just sitting at my computer, and a random thought popped into my head.  Illness is just a state of mind.  Is that true.  I mean we only believe what we're told right?  Obviously depending on who tells you.  For example.  I found a patch (a tiny patch) of dry skin on my arms.  Then I wondered.  Am I ill?  Or is it just a patch of dry skin.  If the doctor told me it was just a patch of dry skin I would believe him.  But what if he was wrong?  Now if I'm honest I couldn't care less about the skin on my arm, but it does make you think doesn't it?  Why do you believe what you believe?  I found out the other day, that I am weird because I keep my loafs of bread in the fridge.  Does no-one else do that?  I never realised it was 'weird' until someone told me that they don't keep it in the fridge.  What makes them right and me wrong?  What makes me right and them wrong?  Whats to say both of us aren't wrong?  Or both of us aren't right?  Whatever I'm getting nowhere.

My friend Louise form school (well I say friend but she is being a little weird with me recently) asked me if I would still be christian had I not been brought up in the faith.  I said yes.  She was brought up in the faith.  She is not a christian.  Nothing wrong with that.  I explained to her that I wasn't a christian because my family have been going to church since I can remember, but I was a christian because I could see that I needed God in my life.  Not because of what anyone had told me, because I could see.  If I wasn't brought up in a christian family, I don't think I would even consider God. Not because I wouldn't see the need for him, but because He is so often misrepresented to the outside world.  Some people call themselves Christians but behave otherwise ( I am not judging just stating a fact) and this can often lead people to say well 'so and so is a christian and they do this' and this can lead to people thinking Christians are hypocrites, well in the case of born again solid Christians, they aren't.  In the case of nominal Christians, they often are.

I've no idea where I'm going with this.  I meant to simply talk about why we believe stuff.  And if we really believe it, or are merely accepting it.  Think about it.  Why do you believe what you believe?

Do you even believe it?

Random, completley unrelated point.  I know some people don't believe in God, for a understandable reason, like they were abused, or hurt or someone died or left them.  I understand.  I don't know how it feels but I understand.  God's promise isn't that we will never hurt, or lose someone or something that was very dear to us, but God's promise is that everytime something does happen, he's there walking with us and there to pick up the pieces.  And God NEVER lets you down, even when things don't always turn out the way you expected.  The bible says that God is faithful, and really he is, he's better than your most loyal friend.  Depend on it.  Thanks.

Good ending thoughts about God...I believe the same as you and I was not raised in a christian family, in fact I was an atheist until about a year ago...since I've found God my life has been more wonderful than ever!!

You may not have known if this post was really going anywhere, but it really is a great post.  Thoughts on subjects like this often do come to mind, therefore stated, in little off-shoots and sub-thoughts and added examples of the point being made.  Put them all together and it gels nicely.

Belief is a personal thing, although some sometimes choose to be blind to certain or all things, meaning they don't want to believe.  It's when a person is open to facts, experiences, teachings, concepts, etc. and then decides on his personal beliefs, then it is truly a belief.  Be open to believing, but don't slam the door and isolate yourself in only what you believe now because there is always more to learn and believe.

I think that the biggest trouble to be had with beliefs is that one can seldom be sure what, exactly, one really believes.  The cure for this was beautifully stated long ago:  "By their fruits you will know them."  Interesting post.

Belief can be scary, but when a person truly believes, it is a wondrous thing.

I keep my bread in the fridge in the summer. Due to high humidity and the fact we run our AC as little as possible, if I don't keep it in the fridge, the bread will mold very quickly.

I also keep bread in the fridge also, but I'd rather not if it was used before getting stale. Concerning 'Faith', If it is scripturally based it's good. If it's based on false premises it may mislead a person. We know that the Bible is true, for the skeptic, because of fulfilled prophecy. There are approximately 2,500 prophecies in the Bible, and about 2,000 of them have already been fulfilled 100% coirrect. The remaining will be also. For the christian, God's Spirit bears witness with our spirit and we know, by faith, that we're saved. Actually christians are somewhat of a hypocrite too. We try to be perfect, but we aren't. Don't stay away from church because of the hypocrites, we always have room for one more. Aren't you glad that the Lord is more willing to forgive us than we are willing to ask for forgiveness. GOOD BLOG, Thank you.

Good Blog Tutu, I too think about what I would believe if I was born into a faith other then what I believe. It's a hard scenario to swallow. It is safe to say that you would not be the same person you are if you were born in the backwater town of some third-world country, so what makes you think that you would rise above that country's, town's, village's culture, politics, religious beliefs and social mores to come to the same conclusions you have come to in the culture you were raised in? There are people that believe just as deeplyin thier beliefs as you do in yours. It is hard to just simply say "but I KNOW this is RIGHT" because they would respond the exact same way when thier faith is questioned.(by the way I am using "you" in the collective spirit, not you as in you personally )

I use to keep bread in the fridge but there's not enough room not that the trolls need milk--the jugs take up the bread room.

I like your thoughts.  They are not shallow.  The one thing people do forget is God's answer is not always yes.  Sometimes it is No and sometimes it is Wait a while.  Maybe that is why people misunderstand God.

Keep writing.  You have a great mind.
