Cravings

July 2, 2008 / by GossipInATutu

I had loads of those today.  Right now I have a craving for a mug of warm Ribena.  Don't ask.  Ii haven't got an answer.  Why do cravings happen?  Is there a way to stop them? I don't know.

I'm in a spot of trouble.  Unless God can help me out of it (please God).  I'm supposed to be visiting a university next week.  My dad booked the train ticket.  Non refundable. I checked the website for the university on Monday, and there were no details of how long the day would last, but seeing as it is called an 'open day' one would assume it's a whole day.  Well it isn't.  It's a morning.  From nine till one in the afternoon.  Well here's the thing, no matter what I do, I cannot get to the university till one.  The train ticket is non refundable.  If I was one of those people who swore I would say (f) (u) (c) (k).  My dad can't return the tickets.  I can't afford to reimburse him.  And I won't get to see the university.  There is HOPE.  At the end of the tunnel.  I phoned the university, to see if I could organise my own separate visit and speak to a tutor.  The tutor was unavailable, but I will call back tomorrow, and hope and pray and pray and pray, that the tutor is available to speak with me when I get there. (please God).  We'll see.

Tomorrow is the barbecue.  We haven't spoken all week, and I'm hoping although I am almost positive the Juliette Champion will be present, that we will be able to talk, just the two of us.  I'll also pray about that tonight.  My list of prayers is increasing.

On Monday night, we found out that my grandmother has a blocked heart.  Great.  She needs a pacemaker fitted.  Fast. Here are the two main issues with that. 1) Financially, my family is really in God's hands, it is not stable at all.  This month my dad earned half what he needs to pay the bills -I guess that's one of the problems that comes with being self-employed. 2) I'm worried she might die, and if she does she and my dad haven't been reconciled yet, and that needs to happen.

I need to pray about our financial situation in my home.  Desperatley.  It is far from excellent at the moment.  Not that I am complaining.

On the plus side...Things are looking up with Gale and Louise, they've stopped being so weird Thank God. I was beginning to worry.  My friend Louise fancies Reece.  The new kid.  I've decided he is quite attractive.  Especially after a sweaty game of football... but anyway, as far as Louise is concerned, he's off limits.  He has a girlfriend  Who he's been with for a year and a half.

You know those scratch cards that you sometimes get from newspapers or magazines.  There's one sitting on the computer table.  I think life is like those.  You scratch the card hoping for a win, but you don't get one.  Then, when you eventually give up hoping for a win, you get one.

Well anyway, I hope I win with him tomorrow, otherwise I'll just have to keep scratching =]

Divadoll21285 - I always drink ribena when I'm sick! Especially if I'm sick with a sore throat or something.  Costco sell it in batch over here, you should get it imported! haha

I hope you get to see the university and have your meeting as  planned.  However, all hope is not lost if it's not going to work out for that day.  The train ticket may be non-refundable, however even non-refundable tickets are usually changeable.  There may be a fee, which can be aggravating, but it's better than the entire cost of that ticket being lost ... and therefore, the ticket and the money spent on it being wasted.  A simple call to the train operator (or, sometimes online) can get you all the information you need.  If you can change it, make arrangements with the university first so you have an exact day and time (after 1:00, of course), then let the train people change your ticket for that day.

    I wish you luck!

You have to love a good craving;).  I tend to get cravings for Buffalo Wings at night time. Thank goodness Dennys is open 24/7.  Thank you for the add btw.
